Fenerbahçe manager Christoph Daum spoke to the press after his team's 1-0 win over FC Twente in the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday night. "We played a really good 95 minutes and deserved to win the game," commented Daum. The German coach also stated that his side had attained their second target of the season, by qualifying through to the next round of the competition as group leaders.

After two straight losses in league play, Fenerbahçe have something to celebrate about tonight. The Yellow Canaries went to Holland and defeated FC Twente 1-0 on Wednesday, sealing their fate in the Round of 32.  Fener automatically qualify for the next stage of the UEFA Europa League competition as the winners of Group H. 

A report out of Brazil this morning states Fenerbahçe defender Roberto Carlos Carlos has reached a deal to join Corinthians.  The report quotes Carlos as saying he's ready to join the Brazilian side, but Corinthians officials indicate that his contract with Fenerbahçe is still being worked out.

Fenerbahçe are in Holland tonight with revenge on their minds.  Despite leading their group in UEFA Europa League play, the Yellow Canaries have a score to settle with FC Twente, who sent them to defeat in Istanbul on matchday one.  Kickoff between Fenerbahçe and FC Twente is set for 20:00 Turkish time (1 PM EST in the U.S.; 6 PM in the U.K.) from Grolsch Veste Stadium.
