Uğur Boral Out of Action For The Remainder of The Season

Fenerbahçe midfielder Uğur Boral is reported to be out of action for the remainder of the season. The successful winger was injured in Thursday night's Bursaspor game and was replaced by Gökçek Vederson. The Yellow Canaries have issued an official statement, confirming that Uğur has torn his ligaments in his left knee and that he will soon be undergoing surgery which will keep him out of action for at least four months.

The Yellow Canaries are a team on a mission. At least that's how they are playing these days. Fenerbahçe dominated the first half of Thursday's Ziraat Türkiye Cup quarterfinal, and the defense held firm down the stretch as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Bursaspor. Fener have now outscored their opponents 8-1 in their previous two matches, and take a commanding lead into their second leg at Bursa next week.

It's been more than a quarter of a century since Fenerbahçe last lifted the Turkish Cup, but they can take another step toward ending that drought Thursday. The Yellow Canaries host Bursaspor at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Istanbul Thursday night in a Ziraat Türkiye Cup quarterfinal. Kickoff is scheduled for 20:00 local time (1 PM EST in the U.S.; 6 PM in the U.K.).
