Fiorentina Move May Seal Fener Deal For Vargas

Rumour  •  Author: Nathan Redd   •   Thursday, July 2, 2009 Picture

A move by Italian side ACF Fiorentina this weekend could mean Juan Manuel Vargas is on his way to Fenerbahçe.  A report Wednesday says the Florence club will seal the deal with Real Madrid star Royston Drenthe this weekend - a move that could signal the departure for Vargas.

According to England's Sky Sports, Italian club Fiorentina are close to signing Real Madrid star Royston Drenthe.  The report says Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino will travel to Spain this weekend to complete the signing for Drenthe.

The move by Fiorentina is a clear signal that they are looking to replace Vargas, who is likely on his way out.  Goal.com reports Wednesday that Vargas is likely to sign with Fenerbahçe.  The move could come soon if the Drenthe deal is signed this weekend.

Fenerbahçe Worldwide reported earlier this week that Fener have made an offer of 13 million Euros for the Peruvian midfielder.  Fiorentina were reportedly hoping to get 15 million Euros for the star, however.

Juan Manuel Vargas arrived in Italy three seasons ago. After playing at Catania for two seasons, he was transferred to Fiorentina in July 2008 for a transfer fee of 12 Million Euros. The tall winger, 1.85m (6ft 1in), can play both as a left back and as a left winger.

i say we get this guy on loan and give ugur boral to fironetina on loan because i dont think vargas is that good to rob deivid alex ugur kazim and carlos from the rights so give ugur to fiorentina on loan we get vargas on loan and sell deivid to cska for 10 mil becaause thats what fenerbahces lowest price for deivid is and maybe give kazim onloan to a english good club like man.city,man.u,arsenal,liverpool,portsmouth something like that and play next year emre cdm play topuz on the right play either deivid or ozer on the left put alex as the playmaker attacking mid play semih and guiza together fenerbahce should try and buy someone like kerlon kerlon at chievo hes so amazing

yeah i think maybe aziz had enough of ugur..

oh btw, ankaragucu signed Darius Vassel WHICH IS HUGE! The guy is an England international and played for City..he could've been bought by Fenerbahce and we'd all be happy.
polat10 • 09:35 • July 2, 2009
its ok its ankaragucu's 100th year let them try to build up a good team

The Keita thing might be true..but wait till Lig TV gets the first photos/videos.

fb_fan • 10:40 • July 2, 2009

Rapaz_Brasileiro • 10:40 • July 2, 2009
The Keita thing is 100% true.
polat10 • 11:06 • July 2, 2009
we need a transfer fast bjk and gs are started to get some decent players and we have done anything so far so get vargas a.s.a.p and some other players
Kozak • 11:09 • July 2, 2009
sanliurfa completed their 30,000 stadium..

they know have the 4th largest stadium for club and they play in TFF League 2...

Fenerbahces actually been the most productive on the transfer scene..

Bilica, Bekir, Topuz, Ozer and a bunch of youngsters.
fb_fan • 11:12 • July 2, 2009
hey Polat10 , its totally untrue what u said!Ozer,Topuz,Bilica arent nothing!Ozer and Topuz are the future!
polat10 • 11:22 • July 2, 2009
i never said they were nothing loll i just said we need to get more players cause gs and bjk are starting to get some good players ozer is like god on the field bilica will be a good defender better then edu and mehmet topuz = amazing nothing else to say
polat10 • 11:23 • July 2, 2009
and obviously its us doing the best transfers but wont be long if we just sit there an do nothing
fb_fan • 11:28 • July 2, 2009
yes,but look at bjk-Ferrari and Nihat-both good but OLD as hell!Gotta admit though-Gs made a good Job with Keita
polat10 • 11:30 • July 2, 2009
ya but keita 52 apperances and 5 goals for lyon loll and gs is not gonna have a lot of money they need to sell a good player or there not doing anything anymore
fb_fan • 11:32 • July 2, 2009
yes ya right, but Keita was underestimated in Lyon-i mean he had problem with the coach most of the time, thats why he was reserve!I watched this boy play,he is like the Black Ronaldo!:D but hey Ozer is 100 times betta ;P

Keita or not-GS are for nowhere ;()
Kozak • 11:34 • July 2, 2009
Galatasaray actually have no money haha.

Aslantepe would be cancelled if it werent so far in.

All their players so far have been signed for free. I give Galatasaray 10 years and unless they win a champions league or 10 league championships in a row they'll be bankrupt.
polat10 • 11:43 • July 2, 2009
ill give them 11 minutes =D
polat10 • 11:45 • July 2, 2009
fb_fan i think him and baros are gonna have problems but will see and ozer is not even human loll i've never seen a guy make that many good plays in my life
Kozak • 11:46 • July 2, 2009
Fenerbahce should acquire the services of Emerson. Hes a free agent and played at massive clubs.

and Abdul Kader isn't only a forward..hes a winger too.

So basically Riijkard is going to bring his Barcelona tactics to Galatasaray.

-------------Baros
---Kewell----Arda----Keita
-------------Baris------
-------------Topal-----
--Balta--Servet--Gungor--Sabri
------------Franco

Arda is going to be the heart of Galatasaray like Tuncay was and Alex is of Fenerbahces.
polat10 • 11:48 • July 2, 2009
hes to old id rather have poulsen lol but right now i want vargas and we need some other players before our uefa cup qualifying starts
Kozak • 11:51 • July 2, 2009
Ze Roberto is free agent too :P
polat10 • 11:54 • July 2, 2009
kozak i think our line-up will beat the living s**t out of theres loll they have servet and gokhan zan who are the 2 most uncoordinated defender and franco is gonna be another de sanctis
fb_fan • 11:54 • July 2, 2009
Za Roberto is one of the biggets professionals in football, but with Alex and Ozer i dont know where he can fit in,besides the bench :D
Kozak • 11:55 • July 2, 2009
yeah gokhan zan is horrible lol. Servet is ok though, not the best passer however.

Leo Franco..yeah he'll be better than De Sanctis but thats no accomplishment lol.

It looks like Galatasaray think that theres only an attacking side of football.
polat10 • 11:59 • July 2, 2009
ya only thing from us is most likely no lugano but will see what happens on the other hand our attacking will be amazing just sell guiza to valencia and get 15 million euro then we get 2 great forwards i prefer african lol then get vargas our midfield will be complete get 2 new defenders and 1 new sub goalie and loan volkan babacan sell ali bilgin deniz and deivid and we will be set
polat10 • 12:03 • July 2, 2009
and news on lugano

fb_fan • 13:09 • July 2, 2009
hey isnt Vargas LB?
Kozak • 13:12 • July 2, 2009
he can play anything on the left.
onurhan • 14:54 • July 2, 2009
vargas and onyewu is, ugur and lugano out, move carlos to the right or put him on the bench
onurhan • 14:55 • July 2, 2009
in***
Kozak • 14:56 • July 2, 2009
carlos cant play on the right and gonul>Carlos anyway..

Gonul can attack and still defend unlike Carlos who only knows how to attack these days.
onurhan • 15:12 • July 2, 2009
then so if vargas comes what do we do with carlos????
Kozak • 15:13 • July 2, 2009
throw him the hell out or just keep him as a spokesperson..

the guy cant defend.
onurhan • 15:18 • July 2, 2009
yer hes not a defender or a midfielder hes just some guy in the corner going for a little 100metre run every 10mins, but when he first came he said he wanted to play for fener for 3 years then retire and become coach, big statements from a small guy and even if he does become coach then fener will introduce the coaches box 20metres in the air lol
Kozak • 15:20 • July 2, 2009
I wouldn't mind seeing him try to coach. Hes had a big career and could definitely share some vision.
onurhan • 15:23 • July 2, 2009
yer very experienced but we'll see, how olds daum btw?
Kozak • 15:26 • July 2, 2009
55 i believe but he says hes close to ending his career.

So Hes probably going to coach for another 5 years more.
onurhan • 15:29 • July 2, 2009
hopefully it will be 5 years of successful coaching with fener
emrahm • 15:33 • July 2, 2009
I dont know if this has ever come up but.. How much longer are we gonna be a retirement home for Europe's once elite players?

Why doesnt Aziz Yildirim spend some of those millions setting up a youth development programme?? Why dont we get a Neeskens to develop our youth? France, Holland, Germany do it so well & they've been reaping the rewards for decades.
onurhan • 15:52 • July 2, 2009
yer very true but in his head signing fallen stars is the way to attract attention
