Goal.com reported on Thursday that Argentine giants River Plate were considering to make a move on Fenerbahçe's Uruguayan defender Diego Lugano. According to the report, River Plate have targeted the 28-year-old central defender who's currently a free agent.
Former River Plate attacking midfielder Enzo Francescoli, a legendary player in Lugano's native country Uruguay, has reportedly contacted the Fenerbahçe defender's agent. Francescoli is said to have recommended River Plate transfer Diego Lugano.
In the meantime, reports last week had linked the Uruguayan defender with a move to Serie A side AS Roma.
