A report out of Brazil this morning states Fenerbahçe defender Roberto Carlos Carlos has reached a deal to join Corinthians. The report quotes Carlos as saying he's ready to join the Brazilian side, but Corinthians officials indicate that his contract with Fenerbahçe is still being worked out.
Various news agencies in Brazil are reporting this morning that Roberto Carlos has reached a deal to join Corinthians. The report indicates he'll sign a two-year deal with the Sao Paulo club. If so, Carlos will reunite with his former Real Madrid teammate, Ronaldo.
"I'll be able to play in the same team as him (Ronaldo)," Roberto Carlos is quoted as saying. "I want to be part of the squad that competes in the Copa Libertadores."
"I'm anxious to get to Corinthians, put their shirt on, feel the support of the fans and make history alongside Ronaldo," Carlos reportedly told Brazil's Radio Record.
Corinthians, however, are yet to confirm the deal. Club official Mario Gobbi told the Folha Online Agency that the deal is not yet official. "First of all he has to terminate his contract ... then we'll sign his contract over here."
If Carlos is able to negotiate a departure with Fenerbahçe, he is expected to join Corinthians during the winter break. The match against Trabzonspor is expected to be his final match as a Yellow Canary.

Anyway .. I must thank Roberto Carlos for everything he has done for Fenerbahçe.. Even if it was only for 2,5 year he did do a lot for Fenerbahçe, thanks too him a lot more people know the greatness of Fenerbahçe. Also his expierence did help us a lot!
Unfortunatly it's time for you to go home .. Have a great and very lucky time in Brasil Roberto! Now Fenerbahçe just release him! We don't want any argument with a worldclass player like Roberto Carlos! Even if he is not bigger then us only his words can do a lot for us or against us!
And for Fenerbahçe i hope this is the beginning of a new period! Let's get young talented players with a couple of veterans to build up a team with them.
