Has Fenerbahçe targeted yet another Brazilian footballer? According to recent reports across Europe, Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar are set to offload their Brazilian striker Ari this January. Rumours are that the 23-year-old goalscorer is in talks with a Turkish club. The name of the Turkcell Süper Lig side has been kept anonymous, but reports do point out to the Yellow Canaries.

According to a Sky Sports report this week, AZ Alkmaar striker Ariclenes da Silva Ferreira, also commonly known as Ari, is set to quit the Dutch champions in the upcoming winter transfer window. With the arrival of Dutch footballing legend Ronald Koeman as AZ coach, 23-year-old goal scorer Ari is having a tough time finding a first-team spot.

The English media outlet cited Swedish newspaper Barometern and reported that Ari's destination in January would be the Turkcell Süper Lig. "I don't want to stay at AZ if my current situation doesn't change. I've been approached by a club from Turkey and we're in talks," Ari revealed to the Swedish paper.

"It's too bad that the Turkish competition isn't as well known as the Dutch Eredivisie," protested the AZ forward. "However, the important thing for me is to get regular first-team football again," Ari was reported to have said, keeping silent about the mysterious club he was approached by.

Now, the Turkish sports press is desperately trying to guess which Turkish club Ari is in talks with. First guesses, of course, point out to Fenerbahçe which has become a true haven for Brazilian players. Vatan newspaper also names Galatasaray and MKE Ankaragücü as further possibilities.

Despite scoring 18 times in 49 appearances for AZ Alkmaar since his arrival in 2007, Ari has been nailed to the substitutes bench this season. New coach Ronald Koeman has fielded the 23-year-old goal scorer in only three fixtures so far.

Don't buy players from the Dutch league unless it's Dembele or Honda, I even have my doubts about them.

Ari is drama. Nothing for Fener. I hope it's not true.

Batuhan is problematic.

Mevlut and Sercan would be ideal but both seem unlikely
JayJayOkocha • 02:02 • December 4, 2009
Mevlut is no good option. Sercan is possible.

Adel Taarabt ? Very talented Morrocan international. Chamakh type player. But he wouldn't be a starter, too young for Daum. Ibrahim Akin is just as good. We should really get the guy.

Serhat Akin ftw

sercan yildirim from bursa is the best choice.

Mevlut would be way too expensive, more than Guiza. France are gonna be biting themselves for not chasing him for the national team in a couple of years.

yeah he is going to be a star. we should have gobbled him up 2 years ago. He had 2 nice goals wednesday
