Yellow Canaries captain Alex de Souza issued a statement on his personal website and denied rumours that he was in talks with his former club Cruzeiro. Alex stated that he always kept touch with Eduardo Maluf, Cruzeiro sportive director, because of their close friendship, but rejected rumours that there was an offer for him to return back. "My contract with Fenerbahçe runs until June 2011 and I wish to fullfil it," said the Fener skipper.

Fenerbahçe's Brazilian playmaker Alex de Souza issued a statement on his personal website www.alex10.com.br on Wednesday and denied rumours that he was in talks with his former club Cruzeiro. "This week, reports came out that I was in talks with Cruzeiro and that I had received an offer from them to return back," he explained. "It's all lies!" wrote the Yellow Canaries captain.

Alex de Souza mentioned that he always kept touch with Cruzeiro sportive director Eduardo Maluf, because of their close friendship, but he made it clear that there was no offer involved. "I thank Cruzeiro for all their love and support, but there's nothing else to do but deny these reports," the Brazilian midfielder continued.

In rejecting reports of a possible return to Brazil, the Yellow Canaries captain also pledged devotion to his contract with Fenerbahçe. "My contract with Fenerbahçe runs until June 2011 and I wish to fullfil it," clearly stated Alexsandro de Souza.

Agree completely with GFBrandon, Alex is a truly deserving captain, he doesn't leave Fenerbahce when something better comes along, he sticks to his club.
