An exclusive report on Thursday states that Fenerbahçe are planning to transfer Manisaspor midfielder Joshua Simpson in the upcoming transfer window. Manager Christoph Daum had revealed after Wednesday evening's Altay win that he wanted a new attacking player in January and latest rumours suggest that the 26-year-old Canadian goalscorer could soon become the next Yellow Canary.

An exclusive Habertürk report on Thursday rumours that Fenerbahçe are planning to make a transfer move on Manisaspor attacking midfielder Joshua Simpson. After Wednesday's Ziraat Turkish Cup win against Altay, Fenerbahçe manager Christoph Daum had revealed plans to transfer a new attacking player in January's transfer window.

Christoph Daum had even mentioned that he was in constant touch with Sportive Director Aykut Kocaman and they were busy evaluating a number of possibilities. According to Thursday's Habertürk exclusive report, one of the players that the Yellow Canaries have targeted is Manisaspor's Canadian goalscorer Joshua Simpson.

26-year-old Joshua Simpson began his professional career at the University of Portland, before joining English League One side Millwall FC. After two years in England, Simpson continued his European journey in Germany's Kaiserslautern. The tall attacking midfielder then joined ranks at Turkcell Süper Lig's Manisaspor in Summer 2009 and has so far been able to impress Turkish football authorities.

Habertürk reports that Christoph Daum has given the green light for Simpson's transfer and that Fenerbahçe officials are preparing to get in touch with Manisaspor administrators. "We haven't received any official offers yet, but we wouldn't want to lose a player like Joshua Simpson," Manisaspor official Öner Karalar told the newspaper.

German side 1860 Munich are also reported to have strong interest in transferring Joshua Simpson. Habertürk's report also includes that the 26-year-old Canadian attacking midfielder still has 1,5 years in his contract with Manisaspor.
