Fenerbahçe continued their preparations for Thursday's Ziraat Turkish Cup Quarter-Final first leg match against Bursaspor with a snowy practice session on Tuesday afternoon. While players celebrated defensive midfielder Selçuk Şahin's birthday at the start of the practice session, injured striker Dani Güiza continued training on his own.

The Yellow Canaries were back on the training ground on Tuesday afternoon, as they resumed preparations for this week's Ziraat Turkish Cup Quarter-Final first leg match against Bursaspor. Despite snowfall which has hit Istanbul once again, the squad practiced for about an hour at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds.

At the start of today's practice, the Yellow Canaries grouped around Selçuk Şahin and celebrated the defensive midfielder's 29th birthday. As with all the players in the squad, Selçuk was also given his miniature birthday trophy.

Afterwards, the players kicked off the action with jogging and coordination drills. Tuesday's training session then ended with a tactical practice match. Meanwhile, Spanish striker Dani Güiza, who's struggling with his heel injury, trained seperately from the rest of the squad.

Güiza continued his preparations under personal trainer Dolu Arslan's supervision, as he jogged lightly on the sidelines. According to reports in Lig TV and Anadolu Ajansı, Dani Güiza will be unable to play in Thursday's Quarter-Final and that he will try to be ready in time for Sunday's Turkcell Süper Lig fixture with Diyarbakırspor.

Fenerbahçe will be wrapping up their preparations for the upcoming Bursaspor game with a training session at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds tomorrow evening. The squad will the be camping at the facilities prior to Thursday night's kick-off.

GFB I doubt Daum would try that this weekend, especially with Christian back, but I really like your lineup :-)

We are in Germany for one month - so to say - buried in the snow. I can no longer see snow. Brrr, it's cold, günesi özledim. By the way, Bursaspor is a powerful team, but we will play better then Bursa.

Yeah Polats lineup is most likely what we'll go for if Alex isn't playing. Daum won't exclude Cristian when he's available.
ergin • 10:31 • February 3, 2010
Why isn't Alex playing? Is he injured?
Kozak • 12:43 • February 3, 2010
Polat isn't the biggest fan of Alex so thats why he excludes him from the lineup. I get what hes trying to say though, we gotta prepare for the future without Alex so we definitely should try formations without him.

alex is probably the greatest player in fenerbahce history but their can be arguments with him and van hooijdonk however u spell his name but after alex it will be very hard to replace him and when he leaves i hope we have somone to replace him thats just as good his vision is what makes him really great ay vallah sana alex and whoever disagree is stupid im sry but you are alex is the best i love alex my fav player at fenerbahce since tuncay left im sure we will win europe within the yrs with alex if not this year but it will be hard

Agreed, Alex's vision and awareness on the pitch are second to none. Technically one of the best I've ever seen. Alex de Souza "The Brain of Soccer"
