Although Fenerbahçe took a confident three-goal lead over Bursaspor in tonight's Ziraat Turkish Cup Quarter-Final first leg match, Yellow Canaries fans received an unpleasant news straight after the final whistle. After taking a blow to his left knee, Yellow Canaries left winger Uğur Boral had to be stretchered off the field and was replaced by Gökçek Vederson in the 36th minute.
In his post-match interview, Fenerbahçe manager Christoph Daum announced the bad news that Uğur Boral had torn his knee ligaments and that he would probably be out of action for the remainder of the season. The Yellow Canaries administration issued an official statement on the club's website and have confirmed the severity of Uğur Boral's injury.
In the written statement, the club confirmed that Uğur Boral has torn his left knee ligaments and announced that he will soon be undergoing surgery at the Acıbadem Hospital. The 27-year-old will then be out of action for at least four months. This means that the successful left winger will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.
As Fenerbahçe Worldwide, we would like to wish Uğur Boral a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action as soon as possible.
