The Yellow Canaries returned back at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds on Friday morning, as they kick started preparations for this weekend's Turkcell Süper Lig home fixture against Diyarbakırspor. While Dani Güiza joined his team mates in regular practice, Gökhan Ünal was unable to complete today's training session due to suffering a light injury.

Preparations for Sunday's Diyarbakırspor fixture began as Fenerbahçe players reported back at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds on Friday morning. The Yellow Canaries were cheerful after last night's Ziraat Turkish Cup victory and they congratulated Özer Hurmacı, Diego Lugano and Semih Şentürk who were chosen as the 'Men of the Match'.

Assistant coach Roland Koch congratulated the successful trio in his motivational speech and Fenerbahçe manager Christoph Daum then followed with his team talk. The German coach praised his players' first-half performance in last night's Bursaspor win and motivated them for the upcoming games.

After warming up with jogging, players in last night's starting eleven retreated inside the facilities for post-match massages and treatments. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad practiced coordination drills and crosses from the wings, under assistant coach Ayhan Tumani's supervision.

While Spanish striker Dani Güiza, who had been practicing seperately for most of this past week, joined his team mates in regular practice, Gökhan Ünal was unable to complete this morning's scrimmage match. The new transfer was suffering pain in his knee, so he went inside the facilities to take some rest.

Left winger Uğur Boral who got injured in last night's match, naturally, did not take part in today's practice session. The attacking midfielder is soon expected to undergo surgery for his torn knee ligaments. In the meantime, Özer Hurmacı who was suffering pain in his ankle and Volkan Demirel who has a light elbow injury practiced inside the facilities.

The Yellow Canaries will be completing their preparations for the Diyarbakırspor game with a final training session at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds tomorrow evening at 18:00 (6 PM).

Even though i'm pro-Guiza i believe Semih should start against Diyarbakir. Guiza coming on for about 30mins at the end. See if Semih can continue this goal glut.

Kozak • 23:10 • February 5, 2010
Yeah Ankaragucu made great signings yet they're only a few points from relegation. Just like Galatasaray, great signings, not leading.

BJK style is very fun and attractive to watch they play like a lesser quality Barca. Their game today was fun to watch their passing is very slick.

mtHead I'm sorry but Besiktas definitely do not play like Barca, not even close. They had a great game in the second half today, but their first half was absolutely terrible, even though they scored a nice goal in the first half.

They have some nice turns, some nice passes, some nice movement, but *nothing* like how Barca play...
mtHead • 00:10 • February 6, 2010
No worries Ergin but I said lesser quality Barca
ergin • 00:11 • February 6, 2010
oh oops, I didn't even see that. I just ready it as "Barca quality". My bad! :-)
