Selçuk Şahin spoke with the media Sunday night following his team's 1-0 win over Antalyaspor. The win snaps a seven-match winless streak for the Yellow Canaries. The Fenerbahçe veteran footballer told reporters after the match that he hopes the victory reverses their fortune for the remainder of the season.
Selçuk Şahin spoke with reporters Sunday night after his team's victory over Antalyaspor. He stated that his team has had a string of bad luck recently, but he hopes that the win changes their fate.
"We were under stress for a long time, so this win means a lot. After taking the lead initially, we wanted to protect our lead so we sat back a bit defensively. For us, we wanted to see progress in our play even more than just earning three points. We fought tonight, and our fans are to thank for helping us protect our lead," he said.
"There have been matches that we played well, but we couldn't earn points. We were just unlucky. Aside from being unlucky at times, there were other matches that we simply just didn't play well," Selçuk said. "We discussed it as team, asking ourselves why this was happening. We expected the match to be a good fight, and we concentrated well tonight."
