Andre Santos can rest a bit easier this week. The Brazilian star scored the game's only goal Sunday to help Fenerbahçe to a 1-0 victory over Antalyaspor. Santos told reporters that the team's focus was great against Antalyaspor, and that's why they achieved their goal of obtaining three points.
Andre Santos netted a 33rd-minute strike against Antalyaspor that proved to be the game's only goal Sunday. The Brazilian star told reporters after the match that he was happy to get three points and was equally proud of his goal.
"It was a beautiful goal that resulted from a very good attack. I'm glad to score the winning goal, and it's a result of our team's struggle, ambition, and determination. I have to give a big thank you to our supporters also for their tremendous backing," he said.
"We're going through a difficult period, but to get over this, we have to work hard and communicate with each other about our goals. We did our best not to lose sight of our goal. We did everything possible to win, and we didn't take our eyes off the target," Santos told reporters.
Santos also said that while he's happy playing wherever the team needs him, he's more comfortable in his original position. "I want to say this...I am a soldier for this team. I have to play in the position my coach wants me to play. If I have to say where I'm most comfortable, I'd like to play as a back - in my own position. I'm think I'm more efficient there," he said. "Each player is responsible and we all have to improve in various areas. I'm just trying to improve myself," Santos told reporters. "No one is perfect."
