Medical tests on Gökçek Vederson came back negative Sunday night, according to reports out of Istanbul. The Fenerbahçe defender suffered a concussion in the team's win over Antalyaspor Sunday, and Vederson was taken to a hospital after leaving the game early. Test results have indicated no serious injury to the Brazilian-born star, however.
Gökçek Vederson suffered a concussion Sunday night after receiving an errant elbow to the head against Antalyaspor. Turkey's Lig TV reported that the defender was briefly knocked unconscious, and doctors ruled that he had suffered a concussion in the collision.
Vederson was taken to nearby Acıbadem Hospital where he underwent a CT scan to measure the degree of injury. Results of the scan indicated no further injury to Vederson and the concussion was not believed to be as serious as previously thought. Team doctors did not say when Vederson is expected to return to practice with the team.
