The Yellow Canaries continued their preparations for this weekend's Gençlerbirliği game with a double practice on Wednesday. Good news came from Fenerbahçe's injured players, as Özer Hurmacı joined his team mates in regular practice. It was also reported that Uğur Boral will begin sprints in two weeks' time. In the meantime, defenders Gökhan Gönül, Diego Lugano and Gökçek Vederson sat out in today's practice.
After taking a one-day break, Fenerbahçe players were back on the training ground on Wednesday to resume preparations for the upcoming Gençlerbirliği fixture. The Yellow Canaries gathered at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Facilities at 11:00 AM for the first practice session of the day.
Prior to the morning practice, coach Christoph Daum commented on Galatasaray's surprise loss to Eskişehirspor. "You can see that everything is possible in the Turkcell Süper Lig," Daum told his players. "Everything is in your hands. Keep your fighting spirit alive," said Daum, motivating his squad. "Think of today's running drills as your run to the championship," added the German coach.
After practicing running drills in the morning session, the Yellow Canaries practiced coordination drills and conducted scrimmage matches in the afternoon session that took place at 15:00 (3 PM). Gökhan Gönül and Diego Lugano did not take part in today's practices due to suffering light injuries. Left winger Gökçek Vederson was also out with a cold.
However, Fenerbahçe did receive some good news on Wednesday from its injured players. After being out of action for about two weeks, Özer Hurmacı joined his team mates in regular practice for the first time. It was also reported that Uğur Boral will start sprints in two weeks' time. Boral had undergone knee surgery last month and it was announced that he would be missing the rest of the season.
The Yellow Canaries will continue preparing for this weekend's Gençlerbirliği match with another practice session at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds, tomorrow at 18:00 (6 PM).
