Green Crocs & Black Eagles Heat Up Süper Lig Title Race
Turkcell Super Lig • Author: Mehmet Pozam • Wednesday, March 10, 2010
It's safe to say that after Wednesday's rescheduled fixtures, the title race at the top of the Turkcell Süper Lig has turned into a true dog eat dog competition. Bursaspor and Beşiktaş have moved up the league standings, collecting confident wins against Kasımpaşa and IBBSpor. Bursa's Green Crocs could even become TSL leaders, if the PFDK awards them an automatic 3-0 win from this past weekend's postponed Diyarbakırspor game.
A snow blizzard in Istanbul had postponed two Turkcell Süper Lig games, back in January. Kasımpaşa's Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium and the BJK İnönü Stadium were both shut down on that particular Saturday (January 23rd) due to thick white carpets of snow preventing any action on the field. The Turkish Football Federation recently rescheduled those fixtures for today.
Kasımpaşa hosted Bursaspor in the afternoon fixture and the Green Crocs easily stormed past the Istanbul outfit with a quick double in the first half. Argentine midfielder Pablo Batalla opened the goalscoring eleven minutes into the game, while Bursaspor star Sercan Yıldırım sealed his team's 2-0 win, two minutes to half-time.
Beşiktaş also claimed a very important win against IBBSpor with the same score in Wednesday's evening fixture. The Black Eagles proved that they have not yet thrown the towel and that they are still contenders to win the championship. Brazilian striker Bôbô and Slovakian forward Filip Holosko scored one goal in each half of the game to provide Beşiktaş with a 2-0 win over IBBSpor.
After these results, the title race at the top of the Turkcell Süper Lig has become incredibly tight as only two points seperate the top four teams; Galatasaray (50 points), Bursaspor (49 points), Fenerbahçe (48 points) and Beşiktaş (48 points). Ertuğrul Sağlam's Bursaspor could even move up to the summit of the league, if the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee (PFDK) awards them an automatic 3-0 win from past weekend's postponed Diyarbakırspor game.

But if Bursa are given that 3-0 win against Diyar (which they probably will be) then at least they are in front instead of salatasaray
I am thinking about ordering 8 for the USA match, perhaps all of us FBWW people can have drinks before or after the match.
Of course I'd rather see FB as leaders and GS as runners up in the Champions league and the rest in Europa though.
hey anyone want a good game with fair teams add my psn;;
