Yellow Canaries Back to Work After Gençlerbirliği Draw

The Yellow Canaries were back on the training ground at Samandıra on Sunday morning to kick start preparations for next week's Turkcell Süper Lig home fixture against Gaziantepspor. A number of players with injuries skipped Sunday's practice session, while it was also revealed that Brazilian defensive midfielder Cristian Baroni had a torn muscle in his right leg.

Fenerbahçe players were back at Samandıra's Can Bartu Training Grounds on Sunday morning, as they kick started preparations for next Friday's Turkcell Süper Lig home fixture against Gaziantepspor. Today's practice began at 11:00 AM with coach Christoph Daum's team talk on centre pitch.

Afterwards, the Yellow Canaries warmed up with a light jog in the forest beside the training grounds. While players involved in last night's Gençlerbirliği game retreated inside the facilities for a regeneration practice and post-match massages and treatments, the rest of the squad conducted scrimmage matches outside under Christoph Daum, Roland Koch and Ayhan Tumani's supervision.

There were a number of players with injuries that sat out Sunday's practice. It was revealed that Cristian Baroni had a torn muscle in the back of his right leg, while Gökhan Ünal who also picked up a knock in last night's game in Ankara took a rest due to pain in his right shoulder. Gökhan Gönül (pain in his right foot), Ali Bilgin (post-surgery recovery), Dani Güiza (pain in his heel), Önder Turacı (pain in his left foot achilles tendon), Emre Belözoğlu and André Santos (post-game fatigue) all received treatments inside the facilities.

The Yellow Canaries will take the day off on Monday, before resuming preparations for their Gaziantepspor fixture with a double practice on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM and at 15:30 (3:30 PM).

Daum is a chicken! He always was and always will be! What a looser! I was so happy when Aziz fired him and now aziz that fool took that other fool back!

If you have 3 strikers:
Guiza Topscorer Spain
Semih Topscorer Turkey and National team
Gokhan Topscorer Turkey
Alex Most assist and topscorer Turkey

With this squad at this moment we need points. We are way behind and its all or nothing. We must trow heavy punches! We got 4 players that proof to be good! For example bayern munich.

They played yesterday with 3 strikers and 1 atacking winger. Klose Olic Muller and Robben. The level of the Turkish league is for fenerbahce a piece of cake. We are sub europian class but the problem is. If you play scared football with only 1 striker you cannot expect good football and wins. If you change the system every week like fatih terim did, you cannot expect a team that can find eachother blindly....

We got good defenders like:
Lugano best defender in Turkey captain of Uruguay
Bilica Pretty good, but i think Bekir can do better.
Gokhan good defender Turkish international
Santos Brazilian international very good back.
Volkan if he plays concentrated he is one of the best goal keepers in the world...

Mehmet Topuz and Emre are box to box midfielders. Ozer can also play midfield.

........................Volkan............
...Gokhan...Lugano...Bekir.....Santos
.............Ozer..............Emre.....
.........................Alex.............
.........................Guiza..............
..............Semih............Gokhan....

You know why Guiza became pichichi? He was a shadow striker with an atacking midfielders in his back... We have to use him like Real Mallorca....

Why was the IBB/Diyarbakir game canceled?
fenerbahce4life • 18:19 • March 14, 2010
its going to take a miracle for us to win the turkish league and very hard to come second. People are blaming daum but its not his fault. The players look lazy. We play wing play but our right wing is messed up. I can cross 100 times better than gokhan gonul. I really think bekir is better. The only good game i saw of gonul is da diyarbakirspor game.

its not over until its over.. well this time its definitely over.. and thats GOOD ! Honestly, I wouldnt even like this fb to become champion because I am sick watching this boring games. There is no speed no fun no nothing - just the same old squad. if AY after this season again buys two no names just to claim three consecutive league titles then I will laugh my ass off

I don't know Turkish fener1907 and google translate is shitty. Can you summarize please?
Rokkafellah10 • 21:17 • March 14, 2010
sageleader, fans rioted over the referee's call and invaded the pitch. The referee called the game off and it has yet to be determined whether they will replay the match.

I found an English article if you'd like to read it

Diyar isn't a dirty team, their stupid ultra fans are.

Also Gokhan Gonul can't take all the blame for the right wing, hes a right back and the fact that he has to run all the way because hes the only one that isn't afraid to make a cross be it bad or not, makes me wonder what the hell are our right midfielders doing?
Temirov123 • 23:34 • March 14, 2010
NOOOO NOOOO. Gokhan cant be blamed. Topuz does not help him at alllllll..

I am telling u guys we need kazim back. This shows how much he has helped us.
sageleader • 23:38 • March 14, 2010
Thanks fener1907

Temirov, Kazim has done real well at Tolouse. They've won 3 out of 9 games he's played in. He has 2 yellow cards and one goal in that time. He's a joke
Temirov123 • 00:48 • March 15, 2010
Wow none of u appreciate kazim's skills. and hard work
polat10 • 00:52 • March 15, 2010
To be honest, i just hate the way he plays.
sageleader • 03:30 • March 15, 2010
agreed polat
Kozak • 07:58 • March 15, 2010
I loved the way Kazim played when he was on form. Such strength and speed and a great shot! Unfortunately his off field antics cost him. Would have loved him to stay but Fenerbahce is a professional club and immature acts that are highly likely of reaching the media isn't acceptable. If you want to be immature, be discreet.
eksi • 08:51 • March 15, 2010
to be fair, turkish media holds these players under a microscope unlike any other sport or club in the world
alperfener1 • 12:21 • March 15, 2010
Slighty off topic, Roberto Carlos scored an absolute screamer for his new team
