Güiza May Return to the Starting Lineup Against Gaziantep

After coming off the bench recently, it appears that Dani Güiza could make a return to the first eleven on Saturday.  With Gökhan Ünal dealing with a shoulder injury and Semih Şentürk struggling recently, the Spanish striker may be called upon to lead the Fenerbahçe scoring charge this weekend against Gaziantepspor.

The Yellow Canaries have been struggling lately, and the team's scoring woes have not helped.  Christoph Daum is expected to shake up his lineup a bit this weekend, and the first move could come at the striker position.

A report from NTVSpor this week says Dani Güiza may return to the starting lineup Saturday.  The team is struggling at the forward position due to recent subpar form from Semih Şentürk.  Gökhan Ünal, who joined the team in January on a transfer, is also dealing with a shoulder injury.

The team will regain the services of Alex de Souza against Gaziantepspor.  The Canaries' team captain missed two league matches after serving a suspension from the Turkish Football Federation.  Daum will also likely have to replace Cristian Baroni, who is also dealing with an injury.  The German boss will likely call on Deniz Barış to take Baroni's spot this weekend against Gaziantep.

Adding to their woes, six players missed training on Wednesday due to illness and/or injury.  Emre Belözoğlu and Volkan Demirel are both dealing with the flu, while Gökçek Vederson missed time due to battling headaches and a sinus infection.

Why not give youngsters a chance, Furkan can be a good striker. He only never gets the chance to prove himself!! In turkey we have a serious problem with that.

I think they should go to foreign clubs.., why are there playing so less Turkish youngsters in Europe?
Kozak • 11:18 • March 19, 2010
Because of work permits.
Axessinho • 11:45 • March 19, 2010
Actually Kozak, Turkish players have Eu status so they dont need a work permit.

And to answer your question aarohaa is because Fenerbahce and teams like Fenerbahce, need to fill their squads with Turkish players because of the foreigner limit. Turkish players get payed alot more than what they would get payed abroad. If the foreigner limit was taken off, Fenerbahce would just buy a whole squad of foreigners thus making Turks go abroad.

what if we bring in foreigner with TURKISH DESCENT?? will they still be counted as foreigners or Turks:

Serdar Tasci, Eren Derdiyok, Gokhan Inler, Mesut Ozil

When is it!! Its always a good time to give them a chance!
Kozak • 14:02 • March 19, 2010
Its good to give them a chance when we aren't in a stressful position.

well as u can see, guiza is the best striker we got. Unless kazim was here. Unal is scared to score on 1 on 1 chances he passes it too much. Semih just cant finish

Were not going to risk playing furkan and onur when were on the urge of making our title hopes even worse.
remedy2000 • 16:44 • March 19, 2010
there are no more title hopes, so it makes sense to blood the young ones now. We're looking at Europa league qualification stages at the most this season. Time to try something new, i think.
Aydan • 17:58 • March 19, 2010
I just want to win and keep our title hopes alive. Off topic here is a cool web page about Turkey's bid for euro2016.
