Yellow Canaries shot stopper Mert Günok spoke to reporters, following Monday evening's friendly victory over KRC Genk. The 21-year-old goalkeeper impressed both fans and the technical staff with his cool saves and firm blocks, as he kept his cleansheet. "Volkan Demirel helps us young keepers a great deal. Together we will protect the Fener goal in the new season and work hard to be successful," said Mert Günok.

Fenerbahçe goalkeeper Mert Günok showcased a good performance against KRC Genk on Monday night, impressing both Yellow Canaries fans and coach Aykut Kocaman with his cool saves and firm blocks. "Everyone on the team was on a low, after the FC Köln defeat, but we have regained our confidence with this victory," said the 21-year-old goalkeeper.

"Today, we performed well as a team and we are all delighted that we have won. I believe we will defeat Galatasaray and end the pre-season camp on a high note," continued Mert Günok. "This is my third season at Fenerbahçe. Today I went out on the pitch with full confidence in myself and I'm happy with my performance. As long as I get an opportunity to play, I will keep doing my best," commented the Fener goalkeeper.

Mert Günok also spoke about the squad's first-team goalkeeper Volkan Demirel and thanked him for his continuous support. "We have very talented keepers in the squad. Volkan Demirel helps us young keepers a great deal," said Mert. "Thanks to him, we're able to prepare ourselves very well. Together we will protect the Fener goal in the new season and work hard to be successful," commented the young shot stopper.
