The Yellow Canaries completed their Belgium camp with a final training session, earlier on Wednesday. The camp squad has now moved on to Mönchengladbach, Germany where they will meet archrivals Galatasaray in tonight's Spor Toto Friendly Cup at the Borussia Park Stadium. Following the derby, Fenerbahçe are expected to return back to Istanbul.
Fenerbahçe players reassembled at the Genk Stadium training grounds on Wednesday morning for their final training session of their ten-day Belgium camp. Yellow Canaries coach Aykut Kocaman and his technical staff led the players as they wrapped up the pre-season training camp and prepared for tonight's exhibition derby against Galatasaray.
Wednesday morning's practice began with light jogging and coordination drills. The Yellow Canaries continued with stationing, endurance and pace building practices. Following the tactical drills, the Fener squad played a game of dodgeball before completing the training session with a scrimmage match. Goalkeepers' coach Murat Öztürk also supervised, as Fenerbahçe shotstoppers practiced seperately.
Injured players Mehmet Topuz and Selçuk Şahin sat out this morning's training session and look doubtful ahead of tonight's Galatasaray match. While Mehmet Topuz still suffers from a right foot injury, Selçuk has an inflammation in the big toe of his left foot.
The Yellow Canaries have thus completed their ten-day training camp in Belgium and have passed on to Mönchengladbach, Germany where they will meet archrivals Galatasaray in tonight's Spor Toto Friendly Cup. Kick-off at the Borussia Park Stadium is scheduled for 20:00 local time (CET). The Yellow Canaries are expected to return back to Istanbul, following tonight's exhibition derby.
