With less than a month to go before the Euro 2008 Championships, the Turkish National Team slipped two spots in the latest rankings.  FIFA has Türkiye ranked at #25, down from #23 in the April rankings.

Türkiye received 856 points, tied with Russia at #25.  They finished only one point behind Paraguay at #24, and five points behind Sweden at #23.  The top fifteen remained exactly the same from April, with Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Germany comprising the top five.  Among the top fifty, no team gained or lost more than two spots in the rankings.

Türkiye opens Euro 2008 play on June 7 against Portugal.  The Portugese team, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, is currently ranked 9th in the latest FIFA ranking.

I know - that's embarassing, rokkafellah. Turkiye would kill USA though, if they played. :)

Are you guys for real, Turkey have not shown any spark in the last half dozen game or more, last good game they had was when they played Greece at Greece, since they have not show any kind of spark, They barely made through a group that should have been a cake walk. Sorry to disappoint you guys, Turkey have a lot of good players that have yet to play like a team with all cylinders.

mtHead, I couldn't agree more. My comment about them beating USA was intended to be more of an insult to USA than a compliment to Turkiye.

Fatih Terim, is one of the most worse coaches on the world. I mean, Milli Takim lost to Ukraine for the qualificaton for 2006 world cup, he has been coaching the Milli Takim since 2005, and nothing good happened till now, he thinks that his youth and reserve players are better than senior teams, and thats what we saw aginst many strong teams.
